California Revels Ensemble Solstice in the Forest – December 21, 2022
To mark the Winter Solstice (the shortest day of the year), we joined with dancers and lantern-bearers to witness the Abbots Bromley Deer Dance, the Sword Dance, and sing "Carols for the Earth" together for Solstice in the Forest, held in the outside amphitheater at John Hinkel Park, Berkeley.

Sang and played with the ensemble at the Gold Rush-era Cohen Bray farmhouse in Oakland.
California Revels Solstice Singers at Ardenwood – October 8, 2022
We were back at Ardenwood for the first Harvest Festival since 2019. I got to pick corn in their field again!
California Revels Solstice Singers at Freight & Salvage – September 18, 2022
We played a pre-show in the lobby of Freight & Salvage in Berkeley before a performance by Shay Black and the Black Brothers. Some of my favorites were: Air Falalalo, All Among the Barley, Bring Me Little Water Sylvie, Broom of the Cowdenknowes, Gaol Ise Gaol-i, and the Sailor's Alphabet.

Our performance at the festival included “Don't You Hear the Lambs a-Cryin'” (with my autoharp) and the Taiwanese song "Diu Diu Deng," which includes the vocal equivalents of the train starting up, chugging along, and sounding its whistle at the end.

Despite the Labor Day heat, we put on our costumes and performed at various locations throughout the Alameda County Fairgrounds for the 156th Scottish Highland Gathering and Games.
California Revels Roses at Children's Fairyland - May 7, 2022
Sang and played (autoharp and recorder) with the Revels Roses for Mother’s Day at Oakland Children’s Fairyland, Lake Merritt.
California Revels May Day at the Oakland Zoo - May 1, 2022
Sang, played recorder, and drummed for the parade, featuring traditional May Day songs, Morris Dancers, and a maypole!

Sang and played (autoharp and recorder) with the Solstice Ensemble for the Ardenwood Farm Sheep Shearing Festival.
California Revels Solano Stroll - September 12, 2021
Sang and played (and provided fx for the Mummer's Play) with the Solstice Ensemble: sea chanties, traditional folk song, and a lovely arrangement of "Songs Stay Sung" by the group Windborne.

California Revels Unruly Magic - December, 2020
With our virtual choir, I recorded several holiday songs (and a hearty "Welcome Yule!") included in the recorded performances on December 12-13 and 18-20, 2020. I helped to host live breakout rooms during the performances as well. Check out the California Revels YouTube channel for previous shows and highlights on our young performers.
